The Savage Garden

Made up of industry veterans, Glass Bottom Games have just released the trailer for their debut “revolutionary” platforming RPG The Savage Garden.

Tantalizingly, Glass Bottom Games are keeping everything quite hush about The Savage Garden. They are quite self-assured that they have something big on their hands though. Deeming it a platforming RPG, the developers have said that all they can disclose for now is that it will be a side scrolling 3D game with an expansive and explorable world. That much is obvious from the genre placement.

Those intrigued by the concept may want to check out the trailer that was just released for the game. In it, the female protagonist seemingly calling herself Asha runs across a 3D landscape but it is obvious that she is a 2D cut out. Presumably that is intentional and not due to this being pre-alpha footage and hence not having a full 3D model in place.

It seems that the world may be crumbling as Asha says upon finding a small spot of vegetation “Lucky thing, without that crack there’d be no light here at all. Even the hillside above this place must be crumbling…”. Sounds to us like you will be trying to resolve some world changing problem, perhaps restoring the “savage garden”? There is definitely a focus on plants and vegetation. Ultimately though, your guess is as good as ours. Check out the trailer below:

The Savage Garden is being aimed for release on PC, Mac, and console downloadable platforms, a release time frame has not yet been provided but consider that it is still in pre-alpha at this stage.

From my point of view I can say that it’s a great game, even more that is in 3D, I am quite satisfied with how things are looking in the game. I am looking forward of playing the game as soon as it is released.
