Awesomenauts

Now Mac owners can get their hands on Ronimo Games’ multiplayer battler, Awesomenauts.

Today, with the announcement and a release trailer, Awesomenauts comes to Macs with all the content PC players have been enjoying all along and all future content updates will be released same-day for both versions.

Awesomenauts is a multiplayer online battle arena game which has player fighting as various fictional characters. The game, as you may have picked up from the trailer, is based heavily on 1980s Saturday morning cartoons, which gives it an incredibly unique style.

The game features over ten unique playable characters, each with their own skills and ability trees to be upgraded. There is Yuri, the Russian monkey with a jetpack and laser gun; there is Gnaw, an alien-dog-thing that can spit acid and jump incredibly far; and then there is my personal favorite, Leon, a lizard-man capable of going invisible and lashing out his tongue to drag foes in close for fatal strikes.

Since Awesomenauts supports gamepads, it qualifies for Steam’s current Big Picture Sale, and there is a 25% discount on the game. The sale coincides nicely with the recent Mac availability announcement, so Mac gamers interested in checking out Awesomenauts should do so before the sale ends.
