Caveman Craig 2

We’ve just found out about Caveman Craig 2 and if you grew up with Jurassic Park then you have to play it. It’s a strategy game with a Tyrannosaurus appeal!

Stop your sniggering! Yes the title Caveman Craig 2 might not be the best one ever conceived but it by no means reflects the quality of the actual game itself. I’ll admit, even I made a joke about Caveman 2: The Tribes of Boggdrop at first – my instant reaction was something like, “some of the stuff I get in my inbox…” But no, I was wrong and so it was lucky that I have learned not to judge a book (of a game) by its cover.

As usual I watched the trailer which instantly caught my eye and as more and more of the game was revealed, the rest of my colleagues noted my growing excitement. By the end of the trailer for Caveman Craig 2 I was dancing around, flinging chairs and doing flips. THIS IS THE GAME I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED! If it’s not obvious, I was a dinosaur freak as a child and we can safely blame Steven Spielberg for that.

So now you have to watch the trailer and I’ll explain what the game is all about after, okay? Good, no go watch the that trailer. Watch the crap out of it!

Eek! Does that not look like it’s worth your time? If you say no then I’m about to set a raptor on you, better get running!

So anyway, Caveman Craig 2 (yes it has a predecessor, download it here) is an RTS title in which you play as the titular Craig of the cavemen. You’re a little more intelligent than the rest of them so you show them what you want them to do and how to do it. You goal is to get a tribe of hunters, gatherers and preparers so you may grow bigger in number and strength and make towards taking down the other tribes.

You’ll have to hunt dinos, drag them back to your cave and eat them in order to get a bigger tribe going. There are unlocks tied to progression, one of which you may have seen in that trailer – the playable raptor!

If for some odd reason you’re sceptical about Caveman Craig 2 then you can try out the demo before you purchase it, there’s a download for you here. Otherwise you can purchase Caveman Craig 2 right here for $9.99. It’s Windows PC only at the moment but it will be coming to iOS, Android and Mac shortly.

You can find out more information on Caveman Craig 2 over on the official website.
