By submitting an idea, one person could receive €20,000 in investment without requiring development skills or talent. Larian Studios is looking for an idea for an iPhone game and will reward the winner with a share of the profits through royalties. The competition is open until 31 August. Five submissions will be invited to Gameland on 10 September where the winner will be announced.
A panel of game developers, journalists and publishers will review each idea on a set criteria. Each idea must bring something new and exciting to the iPhone games market, must be developed within the set budget of €20,000 and must have potential for commercial success.
The contract is available to read. To register, simply visit the Larian Studios site and fill in the brief form. A document outlining the pitch will be sent to each person registered. Included is a sample pitch. It is important to note the word count and that Larian Studios is looking for an idea rather than a fully developed concept.
