Exist In Two States Simultaneously In ‘Schrödy’ A New Take On Puzzle Platformers

Although Halloween is already over it saw many great game reveals and with it the spooky themed Schrödy from Retromaze. A small independent studio from Brazil with Schrödy being the studios first big game and it looks awesome.

Schrödy is a puzzle platformer that has you playing as “The Black Cat”. An entity with the power to project itself out of its body to actually possess enemies. This will allow you to of course come up with clever and innovative strategies to beat whatever is thrown at you and boy does it look fun. Check out the trailer below:

Schrödy seems to of taken the name from famous physicist Erwin Schrödinger a highly renowned Austrian who came up with the thought experiment dubbed Schrödinger’s cat.

This theory seems apt here to base a game like this around as you are indeed both living and dead in your possession abilities and of course a cat. Schrödy is a very inspired title and hopefully the trailer only shows the tip of the iceberg.

Schrödy has been created with the ever popular pixel art style, that has really ballooned recently. Being used to create an amazing retro vibe.

It reminds me fondly of the glorious Sega Mega Drive, couple this with the great midi sounds and this is nostalgia through and through. I for one really cannot wait for this game.

The bad news here is – if the website is anything to go by – Schrödy will not be released anytime soon as they state it is only 12% completed at time of writing. Although I am unsure just how quickly this bar will fill I hope it will hit at least by early 2013.
