Development team Archetype Global created Kickstarter page for their community-built class-based first-person melee combat game, Nightrealm Tales. Nightrealm Tales is structured in the same vein as Team Fortress 2 or Tribes: Ascend but with combat that utilizes magic and melee weapons. From giant flaming swords, massive battle axes, bows and crossbows, magic staves, thrown weapons, and flintlock weaponry, each weapon type is dynamic. As well as team based combat, Archetype Global is planning on regular themed updates which will perpetually update the lore of the world and introduce new weapons and maps.
Each player gets to chose to fight for the noble “Banner” or the vicious “Swarm” and wage war. Each faction has six unique character classes (including Men, Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Ogres, Goblins) that each cater to differing playstyles.
Archetype Global was founded in early 2012 by Micah Hymer, also the founder of indie developer Reverie World Studios the developers behind the MMORTS Dawn Of Fantasy. Archetype Global boasts a talented base of experienced developers and the best tools, like CryEngine 3, to create Nightrealm Tales. As you can see from the beautiful screenshots, Nightrealm Tales looks gorgeous and I can not wait to see some gameplay once the game is further in development.
Similar to Double Fine Adventure, which was funded on Kickstarter, Nightrealm Tales wants to be completely community driven. Backers will be a part of regular polls and discussion with the developer to ensure their input is heard and will make an impact on the final product.
