Today I look at a very interesting platformer that draws a lot of inspiration from some of the classic platformers along with Indiana Jones. With such a solid base Meganoid from Orange Pixel is a very well thought out platformer that offers a suitable challenge.
Albeit the free version is only a demo it contains 30 levels which gives you more than enough of a feel for the game and the scenarios you will encounter.
Meganoid is mechanically a rather straightforward time attack arcade style platformer in which you must try to collect the items and finish the level to obtain all of the objectives.
The game slowly eases you in with the first few levels gradually introducing you to the basics of what you are going to need to finish the game and it does so very well and luckily the tutorial levels do not take up too much game time.
Average play time – Less than an hour
Meganoid is a very well put together platformer which has been created in a great retro look with some equally as impressive music. The game is very simple mechanically, it comes down to the execution and this part can be very tricky.
Be sure to check out Meganoid and download the demo.
