Welcome back to another Indie intermission and to see the weekend dawn I bring you yet another game from the latest Ludum Dare contest. Today’s game is a nice little puzzle platformer called Step Out, created by Bitserum.
Step Out uses a very interesting mechanic that allows you to step out of your body and control different objects (mainly boulders) via a form of telekinesis, however you only have ten seconds to navigate outside of your body so you have to make it quick.
Although the game only contains two levels the creativity and design are great and creates a fun little game that offers some novel mechanics.
Step Out is a game I could see extending and developed into a fleshed out puzzle game by greatly increasing the number of levels and adding some puzzle variety. I’m sure this is the foundation for a fantastic little puzzler.
Average play time – 20 minutes
Step Out is a fun albeit short puzzle game that uses some unconventional mechanics that make for a fun and different game. The style and design are great and work well together making for a very impressive little game.
If you would like to download Step Out and give it a go head over to the Ludum Dare site, you can also vote for the game if you enjoy it.
