It is true that in the current age of gaming more and more titles are being oriented towards the more “mature” audience – when gamers are involved little is mature. There really has been a dip in multiplayer games that allow you to play with your whole family. Well, Nintendo do this to a good degree but few found on other consoles.
Rie Studios have an idea to really bring family multiplayers back and in a big way. Rie Studios is a very interesting small design studio based in London, England. For the last year this small group of friends have been working tirelessly to bring their latest game into fruition. Be sure to check out the trailer below:
The game is Komodo Crunchtime and it is a new take on 90s adventure action gaming. In Komodo Crunchtime you team up with upto four other players on or offline via the magic of local co-op – A somewhat dying medium, sadly. Each level throws intense aerial action with frantic platforming and mixes them up to really create a continally exciting experience.
Rie Studios aim to make each level on Komodo Crunchtime something unique and totally great. From Pirate’s Reefs to 1980s cassettes they really are trying to create something for everyone.
Komodo Crunchtime really looks to be shaping up to be a very fun and bazaar new game. What I was most impressive with is how Rie Studios have actually gotten Skullomania in this title as one of the playable characters. That’s right, the lost character from Street Fighter EX is coming back, thanks to this studio teaming with Arika.
Komodo Crunchtime is currently looking for funding on Indiegogo and they are really in need of all the support from the wonderful indie community to make this game become a reality. Rie Studios seem a very passionate small studio who just want to make good games and with your help they can. Support them here and also follow the studio on the official site here.
