‘Linux Tycoon’ Is Real And In Beta Status

Remember when EA used to churn out new iterations of its Tycoon franchise almost each and every day? So does Brian Lunduke, apparently. He’s getting ready to unleash Linux Tycoon on the gaming world, and you’d better believe he’s serious. Well, sort of.

Linux Tycoon is described by Lunduke as “the premier Linux Distro Building Simulator game in the universe”, which is what you might call fighting talk. As a budding Linux programmer, it’s up to you to analyse and select software packages, iron out bugs and even ensure that the total size of your Distro remains at an acceptable MB size.

OK, April Fools Day has come and gone, but Linux Tycoon might just be insane enough to be pretty awesome. It’s certainly grabbed our attention, and that’s half the battle towards gaming nirvana. If you’re keen to see what the fuss is about, you can order the Beta version of the game for $4 at Lunduke’s official site. Of course, you’ll also get access to the full game once it’s released, so there’s really no time like the present to venture forth into the world of computer progamming simulators.
