Other Indie use paypal too (Wolfire for Overgrowth preorders, 2dboy for World of Goo Preorders and Crayon Physics Deluxe just to name a few).  Why?  Because Paypal gives a higher % back to the developer.  We use other providers too, but paypal is the best for our subscriptions because they take the smallest cut away from indies.
