As avid followers of IGM over the last few months will know, The first official International Indie Games Conference and Awards will be coming to Berlin on April 26th and 27th 2012, and we’re proud to be among the event’s media partners. For the uninitiated, there’s an ample amount of background information here.
With just over a couple of weeks until the awards are dished out, the A MAZE founder, Thorsten S. Wiedemann, has given the public the opportunity to offer their personal contributions to the event through Startnext. Donations will feed directly into the cash prize given to the winner of the “Most Amazing Game” award, voting for by several professional independent games journalists. The idea, according to the Startnext page, is that “the gain is encouraging the development” of exciting new indie projects, helping to boost the cultivation of creative ideas within the small-scale gaming medium.
As is becoming customary with such publicly funded schemes, there are also a few incentives on offer for sizeable contributions. Donate €75 or more, for instance, and you’ll gain full entry to the festival, including access to the closing party. Also up for grabs are official bags and T-shirts, along with the opportunity to wine and dine with Mr. Wiedemann himself. Heck, there’s even the chance to win one of the games put forward for the “Most Amazing Game” gong, which could well end up being rather fan-dabi-dozi indeed.
For more information on how to contribute, head over to the official Startnext page.

Richard is an embittered Englishman with a warped outlook on the surrounding world. When he isn't rambling about his latest nugget of garbled contemplation, he's probably taking a look at the latest breakthroughs in innovative indie game design. However, behind his stony visage lies a shy, sensitive figure, so go easy on him, won't you?
