At the moment for one reason or another there does seem to be quite the high volume of strategy game releases, I am not going to complain as strategy is my favorite genre so this influx of new games is great news for me. McDROID is the latest addition to the strategy genre from the two person team that is Elefantopia LLC scheduled to come out next month. Check out how the gameplay is shaping up in the video below showing the first level called “how to communicate with the locals”:

It seems to be an interesting take on the tower defence genre where you are expected to assemble and move around lasers into fixed positions along with the ability to move them around and control them more directly. It is difficult to see exactly how it will play out as very little has been released so far about the overall game mechanics but I am hopeful it will be shape up to be a lot of fun.

McDROID seems to be a very highly story driven game with a great deal of focus being put onto the world as a whole even with a mocked up website created for the malevolent cooperation that features in the game GLACeNTO. It makes for an interesting read of what looks to be a very entertaining game.

McDROID will have full co-op capabilities as you try and defend your harvesters from the ever growing numbers of enemies in this intersting Sci-Fi RTS. The world and animations look to have had a great deal of time spent on them to create this cell shaded looking cartoon strategy with a great deal of contrasting colours making for some very nice visuals.

McDROID is hoping to deploy next month and is charted for Desura the link can be found here. Also if you have interest about learning a little more about the world of McDROID click the link here for the interesting website showing more of a light on GLACeNTO and hinting at some of the more light hearted humour that will be prevalent in the game.
