While many of you may be enjoying Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, anyone who has played the PC version will know that there are many big features missing. 4J Studios have already said that they’re working on bringing many updates to the Xbox version of the game, with the first being the 1.7.3 version as we detailed previously.
Speaking to OXM, 4J have now confirmed that the many missing features will be worked on. The update after the first one, termed the “Adventure update”, will be the big one as it brings all of the features of the 1.8.2 version of Minecraft to the Xbox Edition. The biggest feature being the Creative Mode, which some people spend most or all of their time on in Minecraft, creating all sorts from spaceships, huge memorials and even game worlds.
“This is going to be the most difficult update due to the sheer amount of changes, and also the underlying architecture changes that come with it. We’re looking forward to the challenge!” Burns reflected”, said Paddy Burns of 4J Studios.
The Creative Mode grants the player invincibility, the ability to fly, as well as gives them an infinite amount of all the blocks to create with. In the Survival Mode, you can expect things to get a lot tougher with the need to eat being introduced and a new enemies including the Endermen. Luckily, you’ll also gain the ability to parry attacks as well as include NPC villages and the underground ravines and much more. You can see the great big list over on the Minecraft Wiki.
“We are working with Daniel Kaplan at Mojang to define what is going in to the Xbox version, but the aim is to include as many of the PC features that make sense on the Xbox as possible, Burns also added. “The game isn’t Minecraft on the Xbox, it is Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, so it isn’t really a direct port of the PC game.”
More information on Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition can be found over on the official Xbox Marketplace.
