In a relatively timely manner, thechineseroom released a new trailer for their latest project, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, just in time for Halloween.
This new trailer shows off a few new settings, well, as much as one can see with the iconic old lantern, a few puzzles, and plenty of sound effects to cover oneself in goosebumps.
Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs is an indirect sequel to 2010′s Amnesia: The Dark Descent which was developed by Frictional Games. A Machine for Pigs is set in the same universe as The Dark Descent, but set sixty years in the future and features an entirely new lineup of characters, and of course, monsters.
Players are put in the shoes of Oswald Mandus, a wealthy industrialist who has just returned from a trip to Mexico which was cut short by tragedy. Shortly after arriving home, Oswald is stricken with fever and loses consciousness. When he awakens, as the official website puts it, “…somewhere beneath him, an engine splutters, coughs, roars into life…”.
Survival veterans of The Dark Descent, apart from being brave, will recall the tight corridors and hallways from the first Amnesia. Things will be slightly less claustrophobic, this time around, promises thechineseroom, and there will even be some outdoor set pieces for players to scamper through.
Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs is expected to release sometime in 2013.
Thechineseroom is inviting everyone to submit their cries of terror, screams, squeals, etc. to them. Visit the official website and scroll down to the bottom for more information. Those selected may hear themselves within A Machine for Pigs.
