Joyride Labs have said that they are very close to making their cutesy platformer Nikki and the Robots available to preorder. In the meantime, there is an update on the Story Mode that has got us pretty excited!
Stating that the preorder will more than likely be delayed until January due to some bugs, the preorder website and paypal integration; Joyride were quick to distract us with a development update. The Story Mode, which is separate from the already playable and fantastic Free Alpha Mode (download it here), nearly has its first episode complete due to applying “upgrades” to some of the level editing contest ideas. These upgrades include background, skyline, info/data terminals, hidden areas, shadows and characters.
It doesn’t stop there though! The upgraded user-created levels are faithful to the originals but are generally larger and require much longer to complete than before. The developers also included a teaser of a level that is not based on a user-created idea, one with plenty of jetpack robots! Take a look:
You can find out more information about Nikki and the Robots from the official website. The alpha version of the game can be downloaded for free on Windows, Mac and Linux right here.
