Dear Esther

The time of Windows exclusivity of steady exploration game Dear Esther is over as it now becomes Mac compatible too. If you already bought the game for PC then you’ll automatically get access to the Mac version of the game of course, so no worries there.

While not for everyone (which game is?), Dear Esther has a stunning visual and audio presentation to accompany your stroll across the rolling hills and mysterious caves that lie in waiting for your arrival on the game’s island. You’ll be taken down a particular path in order to discover the story within Dear Esther – while freedom isn’t granted through navigation so much, your interpretation of the game’s narrative may greatly differ from other players. Therein lies its beauty.

We expressed a slight concern for Dear Esther‘s price point in our review and that sparked up a bit of debate, however, to mark game’s Mac debut, it is now part of Steam’s Midweek Madness deal with a much more appealing 50% off at $4.99 / £3.49 / €3.99.

More information on Dear Esther can be found on the game’s official website.
