Montague’s Mount is a first person psychological rollercoaster ride being developed by PolyPusher Studios. This upcoming title takes place on an isolated Irish island. The games story takes place in Ireland, and with that said, PolyPusher Studios is trying to embrace all things that are Irish with the game. This includes the Irish language (Gaeilge), which is used quite extensively in Montague’s Mount. The studio also believes that this will be the first “mainstream” game to actually promote the Irish language. With that claim, it actually makes me interested to see what the game is actually all about.
In Montague’s Mount, your ship has been torn apart by rocks, and the secrets of this island must be uncovered if you’re ever to find a way off the island. It’s definitely an interesting concept that could really work well due to Irish themes not really being explored in games.
The game is split between three different episodes with the first one preparing for launch in winter of 2012. Episodes 1 and 2 will be preparing for launch in Spring and Summer of 2013 for PC, Mac, Linux and Mobile. PolyPusher Studios has thrown their game on Steam Greenlight, which has been getting some great feedback. Considering the concept of the game, I’m not entirely surprised. PolyPusher has also thrown up an IndieGoGo campaign to help continue funding Montague’s Mount.
It’s also worth noting that when the Oculus Rift comes out, Montague’s Mount will be support with that new device. With that said, I would highly recommend giving this game a look as it sounds like it would work really well with something like the Oculus. More information about all of that is on their website.
