From Neocore Games, The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing is an action RPG which puts players in the shoes of the famous monster slayer, Van Helsing. The game takes place in a fictitious 19th Century Eastern European country where magic and strange technology exists together.
However, Neocore Games is adding in a bit of a twist to the normal Van Helsing tale. In The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing, players (and up to three other friends in online co-op) will have to save and protect the ancient monsters from an evil mad scientist whose creations are on the loose. The game features the usual top-down view of the action that is all the rage with current action RPGs. There are not too many gameplay details available yet, but from what I’ve gathered from the gameplay video, players will have acess to pistols, blades, magical powers, and probably more.
Yesterday, Neocore Games revealed a brand new developer blog for The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing. The new blog features “Van Helsing tidbits” which are short blog posts that highlight some concept art or a specific game mechanic, and “Meet the Team” posts which discuss a specific member of the Neocore Games team, and what they do for the game. Also, posted at the top of the blog is a countdown timer, mysteriously counting down to something. I expect we’ll hear something about that within one day, fifteen hours, and forty-seven minutes (as of this writing, that is).
So, check out The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing’s developers blog, the official website, and follow the game on Twitter.
