Star Guard is a simple side scrolling shooter that contains 9 levels. You play a little stick figure guy with a gun and your mission is to kill what has invaded your city. At first sight this game may not look very appealing. This game has very simple graphics; although the explosions are nice. It contains 8-bit sounds, and the game play is very simple, but the game play is addicting and can keep you playing until you finish it. On the contrary if played too long it will get boring.
Alright not to explain the game. There are two different difficulty modes in this game. Normal mode(which is just “Start Game”) and Hard mode – which is unlocked by completing normal mode. Normal mode is fairly easy since you do not have lives and you can pretty much die over and over. In Hard Mode, you start with 3 lives and can gain more with score.
Positives: Very fun and addicting. Nice explosions. Challenging. Fun for casual gamers and hardcore gamers.
Negatives: Only 1 boss. Can get boring if you play too long.
Overall I give this game a 6/10
