Super Motherload

Throw out your pickaxes and shovels, it’s time for some proper mining in the sequel to one of the best Flash games ever created, Super Motherload, which you can now give a good old once over by watching the first glimpse of gameplay.

Motherload was a guilty pleasure for many people back in the first decade of the new millennium. It’s premise probably sounds quite boring to those who haven’t played the game before – you basically drill down through the ground, finding and gathering minerals so you can sell them to upgrade your drill machine. With this you can then continue to drill down further and find more valuable minerals and various other things including the ‘motherload’ somewhere. That’s all there is to it really and naturally, the sequel, Super Motherload, just adds more to this core experience.

The main additional features in this sequel are 4-player jump-in gameplay, new unlockable drill pods with unique abilities, never-before seen minerals, treasures, and dangers as well as a whole load more areas to explore, including subterranean facilities. Of course, the original was also a free Flash game but Super Motherload will be a paid-for downloadable title for Windows and Mac as well as WiiWare like their previous game Defend Your Castle. The developers say that they haven’t decided on a price point yet and are also considering bringing the game to even more platforms too.

You can kiss goodbye to your life and play the original Motherload here, and find out a lot more information about Super Motherload on the game’s official website.
