Don’t get me wrong I enjoy point and click games as much as the next person, they are not my favourite genre but they do offer some great and varied gameplay, especially when executed correctly. The Summerbatch seems to be a collection of point and click adventure titles that have indeed been done correctly.
Scrupulously selected by the awesome guys over at Screen 7 the Summerbatch hopes to offer five of the best point and clicks available. Screen 7 searched long and hard for five awesome and fun titles created by indies to really showcase the creativity of the adventure genre.
The big five are as follows:
- Barely Floating – Your cruise ship gets hijacked by a group of ruthless pirates demanding a hefty ransom. When negotiations go awry the rescue hopes fall on an unlikely hero.
- Jailbreak – Follow the story of Shaun Alvarez a desperate man who has fallen on hard times. He is wanted by the police however the line begins to blur and could he possibly be innocent?
- Nancy The Happy Whore – When a drive home results in Nancy’s friends being abducted by crazed cultists her friends fate rests firmly on her shoulders.
- Patchwork – When teleportation goes wrong you find yourself along with part of your lab in a parallel universe resulting in all manner of interesting situations.
- Piss – Haunted by nightmares Moira turns to drink however, not even this allows Moira to escape her nightmare and with a clients death before he could settle his account Moira’s day is going from bad to worse.
The Summerbatch is currently available for a limited time on a pay what you want model in GBP. Yes that is right it’s a British site! Although if you really need more encouragement you can play a demo of Barely Floating which looks hilarious and is definitely worth ago, check out the trailer below:
The Summerbatch contains five point and click adventure games, all of which seem like great fun. With a great range of styles and stories this bundle really does look to fulfill all your adventure needs.
