Over the last few weeks Team Meat has been drip-feeding updates on their upcoming title Mew-Genics!, though we continue to remain in the dark as to what the title really is (you can read our thoughts as to what it could be here).
By now you should be up to date on the cast of characters that have been announced via the official Team Meat blog, featuring the shady Butch and the scary looking Tracy. There’s also the curious fact that the game will feature a total of 12,207,031,250,000,000,000,000 cats all up. As Team Meat’s Edmund McMillen puts it, you’ll never see the same cat twice. That’s putting a whole new spin on catching them all!
The latest update mixes things up a little, with the reveal of the official theme song to the game entitled ‘Cat Chase’, which will be part of a full soundtrack of 20 funky little tunes as recorded and produced by Matthias Bossi and Jon Evans. Bossi, you may recall, was the narrator for the Binding of Isaac. Check it out below and let us know what you think, I couldn’t help but chuckle.
If this song is anything to go by, Mew-Genics! will be quirky, energetic and extremely out there. We wouldn’t expect anything less from the team that brought us a boy made of pure meat. What the game actually is still up in the air but at the first sign of gameplay footage you can be sure we’ll be there to cover it, so keep an eye out … or just ask your cat.
