Top-Down RPG ‘Driftmoon’ Gets Huge Update; New Areas And Companions

The Finnish husband and wife team, Instant Kingdom, have now released the Alpha 7 update for their top-down RPG Driftmoon, which is now available to those who pre-order at its current discounted price.

Over half a year in the making, the Alpha 7 update brings a whole multitude of additions to the role-playing experience of Driftmoon. The developers are very happy with the various tweaks and refinements they have made; not least the now enhanced combat system, re-worked enemies and more dynamic feel to the monsters. Focusing on new content, we have new areas and companions:

“Among the hundreds of new things in this version, we have two new large areas (and another smaller area), a murder mystery, new enemy types, boss fights, tons of new quests, and as a whole a much more polished experience. To put it plain, there’s a lot more to play, and the bits we already had, we’ve made better.”

The companions include Velvet the Queen Panther, Stone Dwarf, Stone Giant and Stone Titan – the first of which sounds very exotic and flares our imagination somewhat.

To get access to the Alpha 7 update you will have to pre-order the full game which is currently at a 20% discount, sitting pretty at €11.99. To generate your interest, please find a summary of the game below:

Driftmoon is a roleplaying game that tells the story of the Pendant of Life, and how it was reforged. It is also a tale about how Robert lost everything but his bones, but that didn’t stop him. And it is a story about the little firefly who wanted to be a big star, but was stuck in a crypt.”

If you have already pre-ordered Driftmoon then you will be able to play the new version by simply starting up the game.

Just wanted to let you know that the Driftmoon demo will be released in the near future. That would mean it shouldn’t take too long before those wanting to take a plunge into the world of Driftmoon can have a relatively long peek (about 1-2 hours perhaps) quite easily. I’m quite optimistic you might like it, but you can decide for yourself, of course. :)

We also just finished a new trailer, here’s a link to it:
