Those looking for a new point and click adventure may want to keep an eye on Troll Song, a fresh title from a pair of little known developers by the names of Tino and Dave Seaman. Troll Song will put players in the discolored (and probably disgruntled) skin of a troll named Clod who has for some reason, lost his natural troll abilities.
In a rather unfortunate twist, Clod has also been captured by an alchemist whom he must escape in order to regain his abilities and eventually save all of trollkind from an unknown villain responsible for mostly wiping out their species. While there aren’t a ton of details available regarding the title as of now, we do know Clod’s abilities will consist mostly of typical troll mannerisms such as kicking, biting, grabbing, smashing, and roaring at things. All of which are accessible via a hotkey bar at the bottom of the game screen. On the graphical front, Troll Song’s sprites look akin to that of legendary title Monkey Island, which may be a very welcome aesthetic to veterans of the genre and one that compliments the game’s quirky story rather well.
At the moment Troll Song is still in its pre-alpha so you probably shouldn’t expect to smash anything too soon, but rest assured we’ll try to keep you posted as its updates unravel. If you’d like more details on Troll Song, or simply want to follow the project you can head over to its official blog (mostly maintained by Dave Seaman himself), they have a ton of screenshots, blog posts, and other interesting ramblings from their development process; making it more than worth your time to checkout.
