Voxels + Zombies = ‘Block Zombies’, New Teaser Released

Sometimes it seems that indie game developers have no imagination whatsoever. For instance, what could possibly be less imaginative than grabbing two recent gaming fads, voxels and zombies, and putting them together?! It’s preposterous! Outrageous! Incessant! Why the hell do I really like the look of Block Zombies then?

Everything I try to do in order to fight back the charm of Block Zombies seems useless. The way the character holds the gun, the voxel-exploding bits of a defeated zombie, even the sounds make me want go squeeze its cheeks and give in to playing it. It’s quite easy to see where all the ideas in Block Zombies come from, yet that doesn’t detract from its inviting presentation and fun-looking gameplay.

What gameplay you ask? Well, there is some below and as you can see, the game will feature hordes of zombies charging at you in different environments. There is a selection of weapons ranging from shotguns and grenades, to RPG’s and mines. With no further details to go on, it is impossible to tell whether there will be different game modes, but that does seem likely – one video indicates the player to destroy crystals while another doesn’t.

Block Zombies is due to come out on XBLIG some time in January, more information can be found at the official website.
