’2011: A Space Adventure’ – A Beautiful Space Point ‘n Click

2011: A Space Adventure is an upcoming point n’ click adventure game that is highly reminiscent of the Myst series in its gameplay and beauty.  This game by Simon Mesnard is graphically stunning, with some of the best looking screenshots I’ve ever seen, even when compared to major label games.  Based of off a short film, also by Simon Mesnard (which can be seen here), you are put in the place of an individual astronaut in space.  The official description goes on:

“You’re an astronaut sent to repair an old satellite. You just finished your mission when you notice a mysterious black cube drifting near you. You’re totally hypnotized by this thing and suddenly jump in the space, breaking your security cable ! That’s crazy, you seem to have forgotten all the dangers here, and when you finally catch this cube… your oxygen is low and you have no way to go back !!!

But strangely, to you, the most important thing is that you have this Cube in your arms, and that you won’t drop it until you’re dead ! It now seems so important and fascinating… ”

2011: A Space Adventure looks to be an intense adventure / point n’ click game, integrated with puzzles and beautiful scenery inspired by Myst.  Look for it to come out late this year to PC’s, and hopefully through the Steam’s new Greenlight System near the end of this year.  If you want to find out more about 2011: A Space Adventure, then check out their official website / dev blog.
