‘Astronaught’ – A Space-Based Date With Horror

Redwater Games are looking for funding for their moody 8-bit spaced-based horror adventure, Astronaught. It’s certainly looking good in these early stages.

If, like us, you’re one for something a little bit slower paced and with a good deal of atmosphere, then turn up the volume as we talk about Astronaught. The game is in its early days of development at the moment but what has been composed by the developer so far is enough to make us very intrigued.

Astronaught is looking very much like an 8-bit Dead Space, which is absolutely fine with us. Take the lighting, the gore, puzzles and creepy sounds of Visceral’s highly acclaimed survival horror and turn them on their side, basically. Let’s not imagine it through a AAA title though, let’s look at what the developer actually cites as the influences. H.P.Lovecraft, H.R. Giger and Cave Story – ah yes, that feels a little bit better, doesn’t it?

“In Astronaught your objective is to figure out what is happening in that space station. The communications were cut off, so you are sent there to investigate. You will uncover the mysteries that are going on while using your wits, solving puzzles and exploring the station. Astronaught is horror themed, so be prepared for a scary and gore-laden adventure.”

If that sells you on the game then you’re going to want to head on over to the 8-Bit Funding page and throw your money at it so you can get early access, t-shirts and even the rights to make your own campaign!

You can find out more information on Astronaught over on the official 8-Bit funding page.
