Holy Moly: First ‘Molyjam’ Starts Today

Inspired by the many tweets of @petermolydeux, the first international Molyjam starts today and will come to an end 48 hours after, are you making a game for the cause?

It seems that 48 hour game jams are all the rage at the moment, so when Anna Kipnis suggested that there be one which attempts to realise the crazy game ideas from @petermolydeux, people responded and now it’s a global event.

On March 30th at 7pm (19:00) local time, Molyjam 2012 will get going with many people meeting up in various places in many different countries – there’s a big list at the bottom of the official website and even a map. Many of the international meetups will actually be livestreamed so if you do attend one make sure to give us a wave. The event will conclude on Sunday, April 1st at 7pm (19:00) local time.

You don’t need to attend one of the events to participate though, you can create a game for Molyjam from where ever you like! Of course, you’ll still need a game idea from the one and only @petermolydeux himself so either trawl through the Twitter feed or look at the recommended list for ease.

When the event is over, you should then submit your game as an executable to the official Molyjam website – that function will be updated later – and then a festival will take place to celebrate everything was created over the weekend.

If you need more details make sure to check out the official FAQ page, other than that have some fun if you participating and we’ll be waiting on the other side to see your creations.

More information on Molyjam 2012 can be found over on the event’s official website.
