‘Limbo’ Could Be Coming To iOS And Android

A new job advert from Playdead of Limbo fame says they’re looking to port their games to other platforms and lists iOS and Android as ones they are interested in.

Now up there in the indie game fame gallery, Playdead’s Limbo was quite the hit when it was released back in 2010, due to its obscure narrative and horror aesthetics. It first released on Xbox Live and has since made its way over to Windows Mac, OnLive and PSN too. Now it seems that Playdead are looking for further scope for Limbo and any future projects they release.

The job advert reads that the development team “are currently investigating following new platforms” and lists iOS, Win8, Android, NACL as ones they are interested in, with other platforms potentially becoming relevant in the future. The job, if you’re interested, is in search of a programmer who is up to making these ports.

While there is no confirmation that these ports are directly citing Limbo, it does reference “our games”, of which Limbo is the only one released. The studio is currently working on their next title which is to be made in the Unity Engine, unfortunately there are no hints as to what this game may entail at the moment.

You can find out more information on Limbo over on the official website.
