New ‘Awesomenauts’ Character Skin To Benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation

“There’s a new sheriff in town!”

In the latest Awesomenauts game patch, Ronimo Games added in a handful of additions to the Awesomenauts content pool, but paramount to it all is the addition of “Private Mels” a character re-skin for Sheriff Lonestar. The skin itself is purely cosmetic, and costs $2.49. The revenue that is collected from the Private Mels character skin is going straight to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, in support of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

The decision to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation was easy for Ronimo Games. From time to time, the foundation brings kids into their studio, who want to see how video games get made. In a press release, Ronimo Games stated that the developers always feel inspired by these visits, and felt it was time to give back to the foundation.

Alongside Private Mels, the latest patch rolls out some additions exclusive for backers of the Awesomenauts: Starstorm Kickstarter campaign, which concluded last September. For Kickstarter backers: the ability to change the announcer’s voice to Papa Gnaw or Voltar is now available. Non-backers will have to patiently wait for this to be unlocked to them. Also, backers with Beta access will be able to test out the newest awesomenaut to join the roster: Ted McPain.
