New Cerebral Puzzler ‘Snayke’ Released Next Month

For anyone brought up in the 90’s and who actively took part in the mobile revolution will have heard of the classic mobile game Snake, a simple game which was frankly to addictive in its day however Snakelike games have not really developed a great deal in the past decade, that is until now. Snayke has been created by Alexander Szpakowski as his first commercial game but he is no novice to game development as his most notable previous development credit goes to Mari0 which is a fun 2d mario/ portal mashup which is indeed outside the box thinking.

Snayke takes the classic concepts of Snakelike games and implements so much more over the top of this wire framework. The challenge levels alone look to be a great level of fun implementing the use of screen wrapping, portal blocks, bomb blocks, slow blocks, reverse blocks all allowing the user to traverse the ever more complicated challenges thrown at them creating quite the cerebral challenging puzzle game. I think the gameplay trailer below will highlight the various aspects present in this game.

Snayke may hold the challenges at its heart however the other key features should not be overlooked either:

  • Completion-time records in all levels allowing the hardcore puzzlers to set staggeringly perfect runs
  • Several game speeds to accommodate the wants of all players
  • Classic game mode reminiscent of the original concept with the ability to be played in 2-4 player local multiplayer or with AI
  • Built-in level editor allowing for an unlimited number of user generated content to be shared with friends
  • Full replay functionality to save your best (or worst) moments

Along with all of this content the game itself looks very smooth and hosts great colour schemes creating a very pleasant gameplay environment overall.

If you are a fan of puzzle games then Snayke may very well be what you are looking for as it is a great looking puzzler with a lot to offer. Although the price point has not yet been set Snayke is scheduled to be on the Steam Greenlight along with being released next month so hop over to the official site and show some love for this fantastic puzzler when it comes out.
