‘Sugar Cube: Bittersweet Factory’ Baked And Dated

A little turtle told us the release details of Sugar Cube: Bittersweet Factory which won the hearts of the judges at IGF China 2010. Here’s a hint: it’s coming sooner than you think!

Just when you thought platformers couldn’t get any more sweet, along comes Turtle Cream with their award winning 2D puzzle platformer, Sugar Cube: Bittersweet Factory, and prove you completely wrong.

Apart from being so sugary looking, Sugar Cube: Bittersweet Factory has a central gameplay mechanic which involves the player flipping the background tiles to help them traverse the environment. The problem is that not all of the tiles will he helpful upon being flipped – there are many dangers to our sugary friend lurking behind some of them.

We spoke to Sun Park, one of the development team, about his game and he told us that Sugar Cube: Bittersweet Factory will be launching on February 25th 2012 on Desura, IndieCity and Indievania, as well as direct from Turtle Cream of course for $4.99. You can be sure that we’ll be getting our review up on the release date too, so keep an eye out for what we make of it.

As we take a running leap into the Bittersweet Factory‘s release, a new gameplay trailer has been uploaded for you folks to enjoy.

More information on Sugar Cube: Bittersweet Factory can be found on the game’s official website.
