‘The Endless Forest’ – The Creepiest Game You Will Ever Play!

The Endless Forest. That is the name of one of the strangest games I have ever seen in my entire life. I have spent this past week playing it and boy did it feel like something straight out of a nightmare. I’ll start this little impression piece off with a part of my adventures in The Endless Forest. During one of my first times logging into this game I got freaked out when some dude, or deer I should say, kept running up to me and rolling around on the ground in front of me. I didn’t know what he was expecting me to do so I began to run from him. As I ran he chased me through the forest and as we leapt through the tall grass and felt the wind on our antlers…I began to question my own sexuality.

That took place during one of my first sessions of this game, which is an MMO of sorts. Basically every player takes on the role of a deer in this endless forest. Being a deer you are unable to speak and so this game has no chat channels or any way of communicating outside of the large variety of emotes and body language that are provided to everyone. If you need someone’s attention then you had better catch up with them and nudge them with your nose, let out a cry, or roll on the ground at their feet – anything that is going to make them understand that you want them to interact with you. All of this sounds great since being a deer is something I am guessing most of you have never experienced, and feeling like a wild animal in the forest with no worries is pretty awesome, at least it would be if it weren’t for the fact that The Endless Forest has given every deer the face of a human…thing!

Yes folks, you heard me right. You run through the forest unable to speak to other players while looking at the creepiest human faces you have ever seen plastered to the body of an animal. I believe this game was meant to provide some sort of message and bring people together, but it is seriously freakishly nightmarish!

Most of the stories I can tell you from my time with this game are similar to the one from above. Either myself or another deer did something to catch the attention of another, and we began to run around through this forest exploring the different artifacts and landmarks, at times even just sitting in a meadow staring at each other. There is something about this game that is undeniably hilarious and will keep you exploring the forest even though your gut is telling you to run and hide as fast as you can.

We don’t use names in The Endless Forest, so I can’t give you a way of identifying me if you happen to stop by. I will just say that you will know me when you see me and I look forward to frolicking through the glades together with each and every one of you who is strong willed enough to download this free game. Head on over to the official website and get your copy of the game now, meet me at The Old Oak and we will have the time of our animalistic lives!
