Therefore – Weave in a Wasted World

Developers, Trim Tangle, have just begun seeking funding through IndieGoGo for their new game, Therefore.

Therefore shares roots with games like Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP, with a very vertical pixel art style. The game is focused on “the Wanderer,” who wakes up on an apparently floating cliff in a dilapidated area. A voice in his head wakes him, and leads him through the basic interactions of the game.

The first, natural interaction is, well, interacting. The player walks down the only path and up some stairs, and finds, as the voice says, an inhabitant of the dessicated area: An owl-like creature. It wakes long enough to tell you to go away, and then goes back to sleep. This is where the voice in the Wanderer’s head tells the player how to manage Therefore’s other main method of interaction: Gathering and weaving essences. Everything in the Wanderer’s realm has an essence, and for whatever reason, the Wanderer can manipulate these essences in order to help save the dying world.

Little else is known about the game as of yet, since it is likely in early production. It is seeking $64,000 USD, and its IndieGoGo campaign will run from two days ago (March 3rd) until April 17th. Furthermore, it’s running on a fixed funding campaign, so if it doesn’t reach its goal, it will get none of the money it needs.

If you’d like to learn more about the game, you can visit its Greenlight page, and if you’d like to learn more about the team behind Therefore, you can visit their websiteTherefore will be relased on Windows, Mac, and Linux PCs.
