IndieCade at E3

In the midst of the booth babes, the pumping ‘Poker Face’ from the Dance Central demo at Harmonix, and all-out gaming promo swag of E3 is a section devoted to IndieCade, an independant games showcase.

IndieCade will host the third annual International Festival of Independent Games this October 8th through 10th in Culver City, California. They’ll be displaying of some of the best indie games from around the world. (Did you develop an amazing indie game? There’s still time to submit your game to IndieCade!) The showcase in October will feature the winners of IndieCade’s competition, but for a bit of a sneak preview, IndieCade has selected twelve games submitted to October’s IndieCade for display here at E3.

Vision by Proxy

The games on display at E3 include the bizarre (and slightly disturbing) Vision By Proxy, a PC short where players take on the role of a cute little lost alien… who steal people’s eyes in order to see what they see, by Georgia Tech’s Team Rose. Other games shown include Alexander Bruce’s Hazard, which needs an entire post to itself,  Wadjet Eye’s Puzzle Bots, GLPeas’ BlndGrl, and B.U.T.T.O.N., a goofy party game from the Copenhagen Game Collective.

IndieCade has chosen a great spectrum of games here. There’s such amazing creativity, truly engaging storytelling and interesting new ways to interact with a game in these indie games with low system reqs and small dev teams.
