Nintendo Indie World Featured Tons of New Games Coming to the Switch

The Nintendo Indie World presentation only lasted for about 20 minutes or so but that was enough to get us pumped up for the future of the Switch. The company revealed dozens of new upcoming titles for the console. Most of them will launch later in 2019 but there were also a few set to arrive in 2020. The first two were Superhot and the Hotline Miami Collection, both of which launched shortly after the presentation.

Indies Launching on Switch in 2019

Most of the games showcased during the Nintendo Indie World stream are scheduled to launch in the coming months. September, in particular, will be a big month for the Switch by the looks of it. Torchlight 2, Creature in the Well, Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition, Blasphemous, and Northgard are all set to release between September 2nd and September 27th. Nintendo also confirmed that Risk of Rain 2 will hit the Switch sometime this summer. However, there’s no exact release date for that one just yet.

A few other games that are expected to launch in the near future include Freedom Finger, Cat Quest 2, Spartklite, Munchkin – Quacked Quest, and Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince. There are no release dates for these titles either with the exception of Trine 4, which launches on October 8th. The only two other games that received official release dates are One Finger Death Punch 2 and Skellboy. These are expected to launch on December 2nd and December 3rd, respectively.

In addition to those, Nintendo showcased a few other titles that are expected to arrive sometime by the end of 2019. These include The Touryst, Roki, Youropa, What the Golf, Hypercharge: Unboxed, Close to the Sun, Earthnight, and Kine. None of these games have official release dates but we do know that The Touryst will launch in November.

Most of the release dates have not been releveled with the exception of Best Friend Forever, which launches on February 14th. Dungeon Defenders Awakened is also set to arrive during that month but we don’t have an exact date as of right now.

We recently learned that one of the best RPGs of all time is also coming to the Switch very soon. We’re talking of course about CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The exciting announcement was made Monday during the Gamescom Opening Night Live event. The developers broke the big news earlier this year during E3 but we didn’t know the release date until now.

According to CDPR, Nintendo Switch owners can expect to get their hands on The Witcher 3 on October 15th. The company also confirmed that this will be the Game of the Year Edition of the highly-acclaimed title. In other words, it will include both the Hears of Stone and Blood and Wine expansion packs. Along with a few other nice goodies for those who purchase the physical edition.
