In many ways it’s a shame I have only just stumbled across this game as it is currently drawing to a close on IndieGoGo and has still not realised its funding target sadly. Obludia is a very interesting game from Fabti Entertainment that is largely reminiscent of the classic arcade horde games such as Smash-TV and Robotron .Along with drawing some influences from The Binding Of Isaac in its art direction.
Obludia is a game in which you must survive the wave that comes out of the doors, they are on one mission and one mission alone, that is to end your life. This does start off rather easy but quickly ramps up in difficulty when you have a great deal of bad guys swarming you and with such limited life it becomes very difficult, very quickly.
Although only an early demo of the game I can see that Obludia has a lot of potential and with the inclusion of power ups and additional challenges on the floors I am sure the full game will be a great deal of fun. Check out the trailer below to see some of the additions the full game will add:
The demo as it is currently is a great deal of fun and plays rather well. Although a very simple concept the game is carried out well and the demo allows you to experience a fun and already very nice looking game. It’s only a taste of what is left to come however.
Average play time – 5 minutes
If you enjoy horde styled games than Obludia is well worth your time and although the demo is quite limited as is you will still get a lot of fun out of it. Download the current demo here and if you enjoy it consider donating to the developers on their IndieGoGo page here.
